Brunch at Brody

Imagine that it’s Sunday morning, October 11, 2015.  We are just completing an incredible 50th reunion.  All of us are experiencing some level of fatigue from two days of festivities, reconnections, eating, drinking and dancing.  Yet, despite that fatigue, there is a warm sense of satisfaction, knowing that we just spent time enjoying the unique connection we have as classmates.

We were there together in 1965…and for some of us, as many as 12 years prior.  We shared the same space, the same community and the same time in history.  We truly are linked and in many ways that we don’t even realize.

So after two days of this incredibly satisfying and fatiguing experience, what do we do?  It’s simple.  We say GOODBYE, not knowing when or if we will meet again.  How do we do that?

We go to the Brody International Café at Michigan State University and share a final breakfast at this renowned eating venue.  Imagine the pleasure of relaxing, eating some of the best breakfast entries that can be imagined and reminiscing about the past couple of days; the past 50 years; and the shared school experience.  Not aware of what culinary delights might await you there?  Just check out this menu:  https://eatatstate.com/menus/brody.  You pay at the door.

So there you have it.  After an incredible breakfast we will say goodbye, go our separate ways and move on to the mystery of whatever comes next.  As renowned philosopher (?) Gilda Radner puts it:

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. ”

But it is not October 11.  It is today and the 50th Reunion is less than two months away.  So ‘take the moment’ in your busy life and register now.
