Michael J. "Mike" Murphy, son of Howard R. (1906-1987) and Iris Maude (Amiss) (1908 England - 1963), was born 25 April 1946, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1964 from Okemos High School.

Mike was employed by Fisher Body for 3 decades.  He married and had 4 children.  Mike died 10 August 2016.

Note: Mike graduated in '64 not '65 as the obituary states.

Michael J. Murphy passed away August 10, 2016 at the age of 70. He was born April 25, 1946 in Lansing, Michigan, son of Howard and Iris (Amiss) Murphy. Mike graduated from Okemos High School in 1965 and retired from Fisher Body after 30 years of service. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to be at Silver Lake.

Survivors include his daughter Michelle (Jim) McMann, three sons: Michael (Sharita), Matthew (Tianna) and Brandon (Becky); eight grandchildren; two brothers Ronald and Howard Murphy, and his beloved dog Skeeter. He was predeceased by his parents and step-mom Phyllis Murphy; his wife Diana (Dunn); sister Jeanette Hartwick and brothers Dick and Marcus Murphy.
