WOOLNER, Thomas Sidney (Tom) 68, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 7, 2015 surrounded by his pups and loved ones. He waged a brief but courageous fight against lung cancer. Tom touched many people in the way he lived and loved life. He found fulfillment in helping others with substance abuse problems through his work. He was an avid reader and guitar player. His driving skills could not meet the demands of his passion for fast cars and motor cycles. His love of animals was legendary. Everyone who knew him described him as a "kind and generous man." He is survived by his sister, Sally Ann Schmidt (Milwaukee, WI), and her family, and by his significant other, Charlotte Niel (Oakland, CA). The Celebration of Tom's Life will be held on October 3, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, 5000 Clarewood Drive, Oakland, CA. Donations to the Berkeley Humane Society in memory of Tom are welcomed.
