An Okemos woman and an Owosso man who were thrown from vehicles in which they were passengers were among at least four people killed in Michigan during the weekend.

Maryann Masterson, 20, of Okemos, was killed at 4:45 p.m. Saturday when the car in which she was a rear-seat passenger went out of control on a curve on Ossinke Road in Alpena County's Sanborn Township.  The car swerved across the road, became airborne after striking a mound of dirt, hit a tree and flipped over, state police from Alpena Post said.

All three occupants, none of whom was wearing a seat belt, were thrown from the vehicle, police said.  Neither of the others was seriously injured.

Police identified the drives of the vehicle as Lisa Gunther, 19, of Ann Arbor.
