Norman Ralph "Norm" Wells - Class Of 1944

Norman Ralph Wells, son of Fred W. (1896-1990) and Letha Mae (McRobert) (1900-2000) Wells, was born 21 August 1925 Michigan.  He graduated in 1944 from Okemos High School and was a World War II Army veteran.

Norman Wells, 23, of Route 4, Lansing, sustained a broken collar bone, when a motorcycle he was riding, failed to make a curve on Cavanaugh road one mile east of Aurelius road, Thursday afternoon.  He was removed to the Edward W. Sparrow hospital where his condition was listed as good.

Norman Wells returned from the Sparrow hospital over the week-end to the home of his parents, the Fred Wells on Sandhill road.  He is convalescing from injuries received the week previous from a motorcycle accident.  Several fractures and sprains will require several weeks of wearing a cast.

Norman married Jacquelyn Kuster (1931-1988) 28 January 1950.  They divorced 4 August 1950.  Norman married Joann Helen Cooper 14 April 1951 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.

ENGAGEMENT

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Cooper of Mason announce the engagement of their daughter, Joann, to Norman R. Wells, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wells of Mason.  No wedding date has been set.

Norm was employed by General Motors for many years.  Joann was a cook at Okemos High School.  Norm died 13 June 2013.  Joanne died 6 May 2016.  Norm and Joann were interred Leek Cemetery, Okemos.

Norman Raph Wells, 87, of Okemos, MI. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 13, 2013. He was born to Fred and Letha (McRobert) Wells.

Norman proudly served in Patton's Brigade of the US Army during WWII. He loved hunting/fishing and was a member of the Oldsmobile Outdoor Camping Club. Norman worked for and retired from General Motors in 1980.

He was a longtime member of Holt Baptist Church and served as a Deacon and Trustee.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Ruth Crapp, Rosemary Wells; and brother Arthur Wells.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Joann Wells; sons Daniel (Jude) Wells, Richard (Teresa) Wells; grandchildren Jeremy (Kimberly) Wells, Shannon (Kevin) Damesworth, Michael Wells; 6 great-grand children; brothers Harold, Robert, Alan (Anne) Wells; sister-in-law, Lucille Wells and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Holt Baptist Church.
