Lorene Carol Nelson, daughter of Kenneth E. and Pearl R. (Smith) Nelson, was born 25 December 1932 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated from Okemos High School in 1950.  Lorene married Hal Comet Counts Jr. on 28 December 1953 in Lansing, Ingham County.  Lorene succumbed to leukemia 28 December 1968 in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina and was interred Floral Garden Memorial Park, High Point, Guilford County.

MRS. COUNTS, 36, SUCCUMBS

Mrs. Lorene Carol Nelson Counts, 36, of 212 Greenway Dr., Jamestown, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, where she had been a patient for four months.

Mrs. Counts was born in Lansing, Mich., Dec. 25, 1932, a daughter of Kenneth and Pearl Smith Nelson.  On December 28, 1953, she was married to Hal Comet Counts Jr.  She had been a resident of this area for three years, coming here from Drexel.  She was a member of the First Church of God, High Point.

Surviving are her husband, Hal Comet Counts Jr. of the home.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  The body will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home.

Funeral for Mrs. Lorene Carol Nelson Counts will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sechrest Chapel by the Rev. Donald Smith.  Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  The body will remain at Sechrest Funeral Home, and the family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.

Mrs. Counts, 36, wife of Hal C. Counts, 212 Mendenhall Road, Jamestown, was dead on arrival at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.  She had been ill four months.
