Donald C. "Don" Love, son of Paul Van Derveer (1908-1986) and Ora (Penton) (1904-1970) Love, was born 3 October 1943.  He graduated in 1961 from Okemos High School.

Don was a US Army veteran, with the rank of Sergeant, and a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He moved to Arizona in the late 1970's.  Don died 17 April 2005 and was interred National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.  His tombstone is engraved: "MOST LOVED SON AND BROTHER LOYAL FRIEND."
