Suzanne Carl "Susie" Martin, daughter of Wayne Thurber (1918-1998) and Mary Elizabeth (Hamp (1923-2004) Martin, was born 2 April 1943 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1961 from Okemos High School.  Susie died 26 June 2002.

MARTIN, SUZANNE CARL "SUZIE"

Age 59, passed away on June 26, 2002 at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.  Suzanne was born April 2, 1943 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Mary E. Martin and the late Wayne T. Martin of Okemos, MI.  Surviving are her 3 children, Dan (Amy) Hoeksema of Munith, Rick Hoeksema Ferndale, and Rob Hoeksema of Detroit; grandson, Martin Kenneth Hoeksema; and her siblings, Randy, David, Marilyn, and Ann.  Suzanne was a 1962 graduate of Okemos High School.  She attended Michigan State University and received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Lansing Community College.  She was employed as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 18 years.  Susie was a devout Christian, loving mother and grandmother.  Her family was her greatest joy and her greatest gift was giving.  She had a smile and kind word for everyone.  Memorial Services will be held Monday, July 1, at 11 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, with Pastor Mark W. Harbison officiating.
