Jon Charles Kittle - Class Of 1969

Jon Charles Kittle

Jon Charles "Big Jon" Kittle, son of Howard (1914-1991) and Ruth (Shull) (1914-1966) Kittle, was born 7 July 1951 in Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Jon graduated from Okemos High School in 1969 and went on to be a business owner in DeWitt Township for 2 decades.  John succumbed to lung cancer 17 December 2003 in Ingham County.

KITTLE, JON "BIG JON"

LANSING, MI

Born on July 7, 1951, Jon passed away on December 17, 2003 at the age of 52.  He was the owner and operator of State Road Towing for over 20 years in DeWitt Township.   John was very active in running wrecker until his illness limited this activity and he will be sorely missed by many stranded motorists.  He was an avid fisherman and loved camping in Canada with special friends and family.  Cooking was a specialty and he had a grill and smoker t State Road Towing and often invited friends to stop for lunch and at family picnics he took care of the barbecue.  When his disease became debilitating he never complained and tried to keep his spirits up.  Jon appreciated the many thoughts and prayers from all who knew him.  The family wishes to thank Dr. John Gobel and Denise Egeland of Palliative Care Services.  Pastor Stephanie Crossland from North Presbyterian Church and the staff of Breslin Cancer Center.  Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Kittle brother, Dale Kittle of Arizona; and special friend, Tom Lokey.  Surviving are; his life partner of 15 years, Karen Wolf; children, Richard, Andrew, and Marcella "Becky" Wolf; god-daughter, Gretchen Allen; sister, Bonnie (Ed) Powell; brother, Dick (Janice) Kittle; sister-in-law, Patsy Kittle; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends.  Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2003 at North Presbyterian Church, 108 W. Grand River Avenue, Lansing, MI.
