Ann Ellen Myers (Wood) - Class Of 1971 VIEW PROFILE

Ann Ellen Myers, daughter of George R. (1909-1985) and Jean (Claudy) (1919-1999) Myers, was born 22 June 1953, Michigan.  She graduated in 1971 from Okemos High School.

Ann married Charles A. McComb 10 March 1979, Los Angeles County, California.  The couple divorced 12 October 1994, Bexar County, Texas.  She later married Dave Wood.

Ann succumbed to cancer 13 June 2010 Champaign County, Illinois.

Ann Ellen McComb (Myers), 56, passed away in her home Sunday June 13, 2010. She was born June 22, 1953. Originally from Lansing Michigan, she attended Lansing schools and is a graduate of Michigan State University. She began her adult life teaching in El Salvador and later in Southern California. She spoke Spanish and enjoyed the Latin American culture. She transitioned into event organization with her business McComb Marketing working for various groups, the most recent being the Specialty Coffee Association of America(SCAA). Her business organized coffee donations from around the world for the 9/11 cleanup crews in 2001.She completed the 2010 SCAA conference registration shortly before her death. Her battle with cancer had ended. She was preceded in death by her parents George & Jean Myers, her first husband Chuck McComb and her cat Tigra. She is survived by her adoring husband, Dave Wood (Woodsy) her loving dogs Jack and Sara, as well as a sister in Germany. She moved to the area in 2001 and settled on land south of Philo with her husband and pets. She became a 4H volunteer and loved gardening and genealogy research. She had finally found home, the Midwest provided her the peace that she never felt so many years on the West coast. She is greatly missed. Memorial services are planned for a later date in the Summer. She is to be cremated and her ashes will be scattered on her property. She donated to many causes and no single one currently stands out as whom donations should be given. Her family appreciates the friendships she developed.
