Kenneth W. "Ken" Wilkie - Class Of 1974

Kenneth W. "Ken" Wilkie, son of Bernard and Mary Kay (Hodges) (1936-1995) Wilkie, was born 17 May 1956, Owosso, Shiawassee County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1974 from Okemos High School and furthered his education at Lansing Community College.

Ken married Miss Linda Dubay.  Together they had 3 children.  Sadly, their son, Joshua Scott, born 19 October 1977, died at 1 day of age, 20 October 1977.  Joshua was interred Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, Clinton County, Michigan.  Ken and Linda later divorced.

Ken succumbed to cancer 13 November 2007, Ingham County, Michigan.  He was interred near his son and mother, Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns.

KENNETH W. WILKIE

HASLETT, MI

Age 51, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 following a short but valiant battle with cancer.  Kenneth was born may 17, 1956 in Owosso, MI, the son of Bernard and Mary Kay (Hodges) Wilkie.  He graduated from Okemos High School and received his Associate's Degree from Lansing Community College.  Ken worked for the State Of Michigan in the Family Independence Agency for 10 years and in the Information and Technology Dept. for 5 years. Being a father was the main focus of his life.  He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, home remodeling, working on cars, and enjoyed camping up north.  Survived by his daughter, Ashly Wilkie of Lansing; son, Nathan of Haslett; brother, Brian Wilkie of East Lansing; sisters, Tina and Scott Heyser of Orlando, FL, and Diane and Todd Schneider of Hawthorne, CA; his father, Bernard and Shirley Wilkie of Sun City, AZ; former wife, Linda Carmer of Mason; several nieces and nephews, and many other special friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kay Wilkie, and sister, Rosemay Joy Wilkie.  Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, on Saturday, November 17, 2007 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.
