Laurie Jean Downie, daughter of Donald R. and Carol (Eagle) (1930-1960) Downie, was born 31 January 1957 in Lansing.  Laurie lost her mother, who was a very talented pianist, as a small child.  Laurie married Thor Kolemainen in 1983.  They had no children.  She died 17 February 1995 in Lansing and was interred near her mother in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan

Age 38, passed away February 17, 1995.  Born in Lansing, MI, January 31, 1957.  She grew up in Okemos, graduated from Okemos High School and the University of Michigan.  She then began a career with the Wheeler Dealer in Lansing where she became their long time office manager.  She was married in 1983 to Thor Kolemainen.  She was the daughter of the late Carol Downie and Donald Downie of Laingsburg.  She is survived by her husband, Thor; father, Donald; step-mother, Joan Downie; 2 sisters, Deborah Deal and Sheryl Cooper.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 10 a.m. at People Church, 200 W. Grand River, East Lansing, with the Rev. Craig Erickson, Interim Pastor, officiating.  Interment services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Wayne County.
