Steven Klimaszewski class of 1976, January 18, 1958 – July 28, 2023 

Steven Theodore Klimaszewski, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Litchfield Park, AZ on July 28, 2023.

The beloved son of Theodore and Dorothy (Westendorf) Klimaszewski, Steve was born on January 18, 1958, in Dearborn, MI. He grew up in Okemos, MI and graduated from Okemos High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry at Michigan State University and his MBA at St. Edwards University (Austin, TX).

While at MSU, Steve became part of a special fraternity affectionally known as the “Keg Rats.” Many Rats remained life-long loyal friends who supported Steve (and his sisters) throughout his life. In addition to Steve’s college friends, he regularly stayed in touch with many high school friends and family. Steve was a great storyteller and was always ready with “the joke of the day.” He also was an avid dog lover and at one point he had a family of 3 dogs living with him and Kari.

Steve is survived by sisters Shellee Buchanan of Media, PA and Lisa Hogarth of Wilmette, IL. He leaves behind five nieces and nephews, Brittany (Matt), Taylor, Torrie, Andrew, and Matthew.

Steve was preceded in death by wife Kari (Megard), parents Ted and Dottie Klimaszewski, and brother Tod.

Mass will be held on September 8, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am.
