George Ernest Fogle - Class Of 1941

George Ernest Fogle, son of Floyd Earl (1887-1978) and Josephine (Hart) (1891-1951) Fogle, was born 1 April 1924 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1941 from Okemos High School.  George married Helen Melessia Bird 1 December 1945 Okemos, Ingham County.

COUPLE SPEAK VOWS IN CHURCH CEREMONY

Gowned in a white satin dress with a fingertip veil, Miss Helen M. Bird, daughter of Mrs. Myrtle E. Bird, 1433 East Grand River avenue, exchanged wedding vows with George E. Fogle son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Fogle of Mason, December 1.  Rev. Harold Jayne performed the ceremony before 150 guests at the Okemos Community church.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Leonard Blood of Mason.  Miss Jean Brazee and Miss Myra Lou Shipp were bridesmaids.  William Fillwack, jr. was groomsman, and the guests were seated by Robert Leonard and Earl Mills, both of Okemos.

Following a reception in the church parlors the newlyweds left for a wedding trip to London, Ont.

George and Helen were Mason area dairy farmers.  They also in later years had a large maple syrup business.  Their family grew to 6 children.  Helen, born 17 August 1919, died 6 April 2006.  After Helen's death George married widow Betty Arlene Wieland Everett in 2008.  Betty, a 1944 graduate of Okemos High School, was the widow of Loren Reuben Everett.  Betty and George had 6 years of wedded bliss together.  George died 24 October 2014 Mason, Ingham County.  George and Helen were interred Leek Cemetery, Okemos.

MASON

FOGLE, George Ernest, 90, of Mason, retired farmer, died Friday.  Services at a later date.  Arrangements by Estes-Leadley Funeral Home, Holt-Delhi Chapel.
