TREADWELL-PARISH RITES SOLEMNIZED

The marriage of Miss Shirley Ann Treadwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Treadwell of 914 Burcham drive, East Lansing, to Wayne D. Parish, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Parish of Hagadorn road, East Lansing, took place at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the rectory of the Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Fr. William Koenigsknecht officiating in the presence of the two immediate families and a few other relatives.

The bride, who was attended by her sister, wore a street length frock of heavenly blue sheer wool.  Her small hat, made entirely of velvet flowers and leaves, was in the same shade of blue, and trimmed with two matching veils, one being beneath her chin.  Her flowers were white roses.  Miss Patricia Treadwell wore old rose with brown accessories and a corsage of blue iris and Johanna Hill roses.

R. Lee Parish was his brother's groomsman.  Mrs. Treadwell wore an aqua and black jersey print dress for the occasion, while the mother of the bridegroom was in dusty rose crepe.  Both had corsages of white roses and rhubrum lilies.

Later in the day a reception for over 100 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents where palms and tall cathedral tapers formed a setting.  The four-tiered wedding cake decorated the all-white bridal table.  Out-of-town guests were from Detroit, Bay City, Standish and Charlotte.

Wayne, born 24 September 1920, was a World War II Navy veteran.  He was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years.  Wayne died 18 August 1982 Lansing.  Shirley died 17 October 2001.  Wayne and Shirley were interred  St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
