Elmer Clayton "Clayton" Hitchcock - Class Of 1943

Elmer Clayton "Clayton" Hitchcock, son of Howard (1887-1960) and Lizzie (Burt) (1894-1958) Hitchcock, was born 2 November 1925 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. He graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School and entered the US Navy. Clayton was honorably discharged from the US Navy with the rank of SM2. Clayton was married twice: Arlene and Cecelia "Beverly." He died 17 June 1998 Polk County, Florida and was interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County, Michigan.

Age 72, died June 17, 1998 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1925 in Lansing, MI and worked for General Motors, moving to Lakeland in 1986. He was of the Lutheran faith, and was a Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia "Beverly" Hitchcock of Lakeland; son, Robert Blatt of Lansing; daughter, Linda Moots of DeWitt; brother, Robert Hitchcock of Lansing; sisters, Laura Ewers of Gregory, MI and Eveline Baker of Michigan; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
