Leona I. "Lee" Jolley, daughter of Milo Franklin (1896-1968) and Helen I. (Truax) (1897-1987) Jolley, was born 1925 Michigan. She graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School. Leona was one of 3 Jolley sisters who were OHS graduates; Lucile, 1938, and Lois, 1941. Lee married Edward Orra Smith 7 January 1943 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan. Lee and Edward lived in California for many years, retiring to Arizona. Edward, born 4 February 1923, was a World War II Naval veteran. He died in Maricopa County, Arizona 29 May 2009.

Leona, as of 2015, was still living.

Edward Smith, 85 born February 4, 1923 in Pontiac, MI to Orra and Florence Smith. Passed away May 28, 2008 of congestive heart failure with his family at his bedside. He is survived by his wife Lee of 65 years, daughters Leslie White, Erin Williams and son in law John Williams, grandson George White III and wife Amanda White. Ed was the oldest of 5 siblings; Onalee Lockwood, Myron Smith, Orleta Shaulis and Marlene Fuller. Ed was a World War II Navy Seabee veteran. He moved to California after the war where he lived most of his life. After having a successful construction business for over 40 years, Ed and his wife retired to Sun City West, AZ to play a lot of golf. Ed had a kind gentle heart and cheerful disposition. He will be greatly missed and will live on forever in the hearts and memories of all his friends and family. Services will be held Friday June 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Baptist Village Sun Ridge, 12215 W. Bell Road, Surprise, AZ 85374. Ed spent the last year of his life at Baptist Village receiving excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Baptist Village Sun Ridge, "special projects for Sun Ridge only" attention Scott Medlin.
