Jean Marie Sussex, daughter of Frederick Stuart "Stuart" (1906-1979) and Florence "Flossie" (Kieffer) (1906-1934) Sussex, was born 16 December 1924 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Jean lost her mother to "hypernephroma," kidney cancer, when she was only 10.  She graduated in 1943 from Okemos High School and married fellow 1943 OHS graduate Dorr Hudson 20 June 1944 Okemos, Ingham County.  Dorr and Jean's father were both World War II veterans.

Dorr and Jean raised 4 sons together and had 57 years of marriage before she died 12 April 2002.  Dorr, born 4 March 1925, died 27 March 2009.  Dorr and Jean were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

Age 77, went to be with her Lord on April 12, 2002, born on December 16, 1924 to Frederick S. and Flossie G. (Kieffer) Sussex, in Lansing.  First and foremost she was a loving and dedicated wife and mother.  Jean was a member of the Holt United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was the first secretary at North Aurelius School in Mason.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  Jean leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Dorr; 4 sons, Thomas (Doris), Frederick, Ronald (Karen), Peter (Rhonda); she cherished her 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Sonya Herrin and her children, Christine and Levi, Ryan, Joanne (Chris) Floyd, Tracy (Mark) Haskell, Richard, Karl and Bridget; she was proud to be the oldest of 17 brothers and sisters, she also had many, many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2992 at the Holt United Methodist Church 2321 N. Aurelius Rd., Hot, with the Rev. Lynn Grimes officiating.
