Edna Martha Ratzloff (Brown) - Class Of 1930

Edna Martha Ratzloff, daughter of Fred ((1978-1945) and Carolyn (Lutz) (1995-1947) Ratzloff, was born 17 January 1913 Michigan.  She graduated 1930 from Okemos High School and married Elmer Charles Brown 3 March 1934 Elkhart County, Indiana.  Elmer, born 6 November 1907 Ingham County, Michigan, spent his working career employed by the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1969. He died 28 October 1990 Ingham County.  Edna and Elmer were the parents of two daughters.  Edna died 8 September 2002, Ingham County.  Elmer and Edna were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.

MARRIAGE OF MASON COUPLE ANNOUNCED

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ratzloff of Mason have announced the marriage of their daughter, Edna Martha, to Elmer Charles Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown of Mason.  Ther ceremony was performed at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage at Elkhart, Ind., October 17, 1933.

Mrs. Brown graduated from Okemos high school in 1930 and from Lansing Business university the following year.  During the past year she has been employed at the Consumers Power company.  Mr. Brown attended Holt high school and for the past two and one-half years has been employed at the Lansing post office.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown will reside in Mason.

BROWN, EDNA M.

MASON

Age 89, died September 8, 2002.  Born January 17, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Carolyn Ratzloff.  She was employed with the Ingham County Treasurer's Office for 28 years, many as Deputy Treasurer.  Mrs. Brown was a life member of the Mason Chapter #150 O.E.S. and the Mason Women's Club, and a member of the Mason Senior Citizens, the Okemos Pioneer Club, the Alaiedon Ladies Aide, and the Mason Rebekah Lodge #324.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Elmer, and sisters, Jean Knoles and Delsie Miles.  Surviving are her 2 daughters, Eleanor (Mike) Heinrich of Webberville, and Doris (Robert) Weber of Mason; 1 grandson, Robert Weber Jr. of Marietta, GA; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Ball-Dunn Chapel, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason.  Interment will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
