Ralph Strayer, son of Edward A. (1886-1967) and Kate (Small) (1887-1981) Strayer, was born 23 February 1912 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1930 from Okemos High School.  Ralph married Ireane Harriet Sherman 9 July 1939 Lansing, Ingham County.  Ralph died suddenly 24 September 1959 Ingham County.

RALPH STRAYER IS DEAD AT 47

Ralph Strayer, 47, of 4729 Stafford ave., died Thursday at a local hospital. He was born in Okemos and was a lifelong resident of Lansing and vicinity.  He was a driver-salesman for the Superior Distributing company.  Surviving are the widow, Ireane; three daughters, Mrs. Walter L. Dixon, Donna Jean and Kathy Sue Strayer, all of Lansing; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Strayer of Holt; two brothers, Charles of Mason and Bernard of Lansing, and on sister, Mrs. Eva Ohler of Lansing.  Funeral services will be held at the Gorsline-Runciman funeral home at 1 p.m. Monday.  Interment will be in Glendale cemetery.

Ralph's widow married Frederick Lotridge.  Ireane, born 19 November 1919 Michigan, was killed by a motorcycle 4 July 1965 Grayling County, Michigan.

Mrs. Lotridge died in Grayling Mercy Hospital of injuries suffered in Benton Township, Roscommon County, earlier in the day when she was struck by a motorcycle.

State police at the Houghton Lake post said she was walking in a parking lot along M-55 when a motorcyclist, following an automobile on the highway, swerved to avoid hitting the car as it suddenly slowed.

The cyclist ran his vehicle off the highway and struck the Lansing woman, troopers said.  He was not held.

Mrs. Lotridge's body was brought to the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, where arrangements for services are being made.

Ralph and Ireane's daughter, Lois Ann, died at a young age.  Lois, born 18 July 1941, in 1959 married Walter LeRoy Dixon.  Lois died 29 November 1977 Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan.  Ralph, Ireane and Lois Ann were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
