John Edwin "Ed" Wells - Class Of 1930

John Edwin "Ed" Wells, son of Herbert Monroe (1863-1949) and Addie Marie (Hartwell) (1872-1948) Wells, was born 12 November 1912 Livingston County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1930 from Okemos High School.  Ed married Beatrice Evelyn Jackson 26 March 1938 Oak Grove, Livingston County.

WED AT OAK GROVE, COUPLE TO LIVE HERE

Miss Beatrice Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jackson of near Howell, and J. Edwin Wells, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Wells of Howell, were united in marriage at the Oak Grove Methodist church Saturday, March 27.  Miss Jackson was attended by Miss Mary Wells, and was given away by her father, while Mr. Wells was attended by Orval Jackson.  Robert Lot, of Belding, played the wedding march, and accompanied Marshall Sheldon as he sang "O Promise Me" and John Jackson who sang "I Love You Truly."

The single ring ceremony was performed in the presence of nearly 100 friends and relatives by the Rev. Kearney Kirkby, of Vermontville, cousin of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Wells will reside on a small farm, near Lansing.

Ed died 5 June 1981 Superior, Washtenaw County, Michigan.  Beatrice, born 19 November 1915 Howell, Livingston County, succumbed, 9 August, 2000, to chronic lymphoma while living at Warren United Methodist Home, Warren, Huntington County, Indiana.  Ed and Beatrice were interred Lakeview Cemetery, Howell.
