Philip E. J. Woodworth - Class Of 1925

Philip E. J. Woodworth

Phillip E. J. Woodworth, son of Philo R. (1880-1947) and Nettie V. (Spross) (1881-1952) Woodworth, was born 1905, Michigan.  Philip graduated in 1925 from Okemos High School.

On 15 March 1930, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, Philip married Martha E. Raymond.  Martha, daughter of Harry and Ethel (Hug) Raymond, was born 17 November 1909.  She died unexpectedly 27 August 1946, Grayling, Crawford County, Michigan.  She was interred Union Cemetery, Blanchard, Isabella County, Michigan.

FORMER LANSING WOMAN SUCCUMBS AT GRAYLING

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Woodworth, former Lansing resident, who died Tuesday in a Grayling hospital following an operation, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Simpson funeral home in Mr. Pleasant.  Burial will be in the Winn cemetery.  Mrs. Woodworth was formerly employed by the state revenue department.  She moved to Houghton lake to make her home about three years ago.

Philip married twice divorced Ann (Bashaw) Notter, 6 December 1947, Charlevoix County, Michigan.  The couple divorced in 1949.  Philip married divorcee Nellie Lavina (Jones) Stockman.  The couple divorced in 1952.

Philip died 19 July 1962, Grand Traverse County, Michigan.  He was interred with his 1st wife, Martha, Union Cemetery, Isabella County.

RITES FOR FORMER LOCAL MAN TO BE AT MT. PLEASANT

Traverse City, July 20 - Phillip E. J. Woodworth, 56, formerly of Lansing and Houghton Lake, died Thursday in a Traverse City hospital.  He had been in the resort business here.

Survivors include the widow, Donna; a son, Brian, and a daughter, Sharolyn, all of Traverse City, and three sisters, Mrs. Otto (misspelled) Grettenberger of Okemos, Mrs. Roland Howes of Mason and Mrs. Redmond Cotter of Sacramento, Cal.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but services will be in Mt. Pleasant.  The body is at the Stinson funeral home, Mr. Pleasant.
