Electa Belle Seipp (Bufton) - Class Of 1912

Electa Belle Seipp, daughter of Carl (1862 Germany-1944) and Irminia G. "Minnie" (Sutherland) (1867-1914) Seipp, was born 11 October 1895, Michigan.  Electa graduated in 1912 from Okemos High School.  She married, 6 July 1918, Gresham, Eaton County, Michigan, Edward Raymond Kirkbride.

ALBION - John Kirkbride, of Camp Custer, took an Albion college girl for his bride when he was united in marriage with Miss Electa B. Seipp, of Charlotte.  Rev. Carl Seipp, father of the bride performed the ceremony.

Note that the name "John" was used for Edward's first name.  Also he was in active service in the US Army, Camp Custer, when the 1918 marriage took place.

Edward Raymond Kirkbride, born 8 July 1894, Sanilac County, Michigan, was a World War I Army veteran.  He died 7 November 1942, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan.

EDWARD KIRKBRIDE

Edward Raymond Kirkbride, 48, of 302 Berry avenue, died Saturday in University hospital, Ann Arbor.  Mr. Kirkbride, a resident of Lansing since 1920 came here from Albion.  He was a World war veteran and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.  He is survived by the widow, Electa B.; a son, Erwin C. and a daughter, Minnie Ellen, all of Lansing; the mother, Mrs. Carrie Kirkbride of Albion and two brothers, Warren E. Kirkbride of Lansing and Earle H. of Albion.  Funeral services will be held in the Estes-Leadley Colonial chapel Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with Rev. George J. Franklin officiating.  Interment will be in Glendale cemetery at Okemos. 

Electa raised the two children in Lansing.  In February 1963, Hillsborough County, Florida, Electa married widower Lee Mark Bufton.  Lee, born 15 June 1887, Wisconsin, died 29 July 1971, Wisconsin.  Electa died 27 July 1988, Pasco County, Florida.  Electa was interred Glendale Cemetery with her parents and 1st husband Edward.

BUFTON, ELECTA (KIRKBRIDE), 92, formerly of Lansing, died Wednesday in Florida.  Services 1 p.m. Saturday at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
