Ivan David Hunt - Class Of 1945

Ivan David Hunt, son of Harold Fletcher (1900-1976) and Hazel Eliabeth (Ball) (1902-1989) Hunt, was born 4 February 1928, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Ivan graduated in 1945 from Okemos High School and almost immediately joined the US Navy where he honorably served until discharge in 1948.

Ivan married divorcee Deloris June Leasure 13 September 1947, Portsmouth, Norfolk County, Virginia.  After military service Ivan and wife returned to Michigan where he was employed by the Michigan Highway Department for many years. 

Ivan died 6 August 1996 Leroy, Calhoun County, Michigan.  Deloris, born 17 February 1928, died 31 December 2006.  Ivan and Deloris were interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County, Michigan.

LEROY TOWNSHIP

Ivan d. Hunt, 68, of Leroy Township, died Tuesday, August 6, 1996, at home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Lansing to Harold F. and Hazel E. (Ball) Hunt, graduated from Okemos High School and served in the U.S Navy as a radioman first class.

He was employed for 23 years as a mechanic for the Michigan Highway Department, retiring in 1988.

He married Deloris J. Leasure on September 13, 1947, in Portsmouth, VA.  She survives.

Also surviving are son, Gary L., Roger D. and Donald C. Hunt of Battle Creek; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Hunt of Lansing and Louis Hunt of Kalkaska; and a sister, Donna Cochran of Dimondale.
