Betty, daughter of Emil Carl (1893-1988) and Olga (Pfiffer) (1897-1984) Dorow, taught OHS Music during the 1953-54 year. She was a graduate of Western Michigan College (now Western Michigan University) with a Bachelor's in Music. On 20 June 1954 she married another music teacher, Carl Burdette Moore. The couple had 5 children but tragedy struck 17 Aril 1968 when Carl and the oldest children, David and Steven, were involved in a head on crash while driving to their summer cottage. Young Steven (born 16 July 1957) was killed.

Carl taught music for many years in a Barry County school system. Born 24 November 1930, Carl died 16 April 2008, Barry County. He was interred in the same cemetery as Steven, Reese Cemetery, Calhoun County, Michigan. As of 2018 Betty was still living.
