Lorenzo J. "Dick" Dickson - Class Of 1935

Lorenzo J. Dick Dickson

Lorenzo J. "Dick" Dickson, son of Loren Walter (1889-1973) and Effie Rose Ruthruff) (1896-1981) Dickson, was born 7 June 1915, Michigan.  He graduated in 1935 from Okemos High School.  Dick joined the US Army and rose to Staff Sergeant during World War II.

Dick married Juanita Florence Wolf 14 February 1942, Alabama.

Lester M. Wolf of 610 Sheridan street announces the engagement of his daughter, Juanita F., to Pvt. F.C. Lorenzo J. Dickson, Fort Benning, Ga., son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Dickson of DeWitt.

Mr. Lorenzo J. Dickson, who was Miss Juanita Wolf before her marriage February 14 at Smith Station, Ala., will leave Wednesday for Columbus, GA., to join her husband, Corp. Lorenzo Dickson, who is stationed at Fort Benning, Ga.  Mrs. Dickson was honored at a shower last Wednesday evening in the home of Mr. Max H. McCaffrey, 1604 Vermont street.

After honorable discharge from the US Army Dick had a 30 year career with the US Postal Service.  He was also very active with VFW for a number of years.  Dick died 18 June 2009, Michigan.  Juanita, born 7 May 1923, died 30 January 2014.  Dick and Juanita were interred Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Clinton County, Michigan.
