Virginia Mary Crane (Holley) - Class Of 1935

Virginia Mary Crane (Holley)

Virginia Mary Crane (her name may actually have been "Mary Virginia"), daughter of Claude L. (1880-1962) and Hattie E. (Davis) (1877-1967) Crane, was born 21 November 1917, Michigan.  Virginia was active in Girl Scouts during her youth. She graduated in 1935 from Okemos High School and married, 30 April 1926, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan, Miles W. Holley.

LANSING GIRL WEDS MASON MAN THURSDAY

Mr. and Mrs. Claude L. Crane announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Virginia, to Miles T. (typo; should have been the initial "W") Holley of Mason, on Thursday evening, April 30.  The marriage took place at the Olivet Baptist parsonage, the Rev. Silas Perry officiating.  Mr. and Mrs. Holley will make their home in Mason.

Miles, born 8 July 1914, Michigan, was employed for many years by Michigan Bell Telephone as an installer.  During their 59 years of marriage, Virginia and Miles raised 2 daughters.  About 1983 the couple moved to Florida and settled in Pasco County.  Miles died 1 July 1995 and his inurnment was in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, Ingham County.  Virginia's parents were also interred East Lawn Memory Gardens.

Unfortunately one of Holley daughters, Linda K. "Kay" Smith, died in 2006.  Virginia continued to live in Florida until her own death in 2013 at age 95.

95, of Zephyrhills, FL, died June 21, 2013.  Survived by daughter, Kristine Struble and husband; 2 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and many great-grandchildren.  Memorial later.
