For the past 19 years, he lived in Clio, Michigan or Perry, Florida with his wife, Bonnie where they were popular in the antique business. Bud also practiced the art of bonsai to perfection and was an authority on English Bulldogs, serving many years as a national bulldog judge for the American Kennel Association. He loved to cook and entertain and was a gracious host to all. After graduating from Michigan State University in 1940, Bud started his career at Buick Motor Division as one of Buick's original metallurgists. There he worked for 38 years becoming Superintendent of Buick Foundry and retiring as Superintendent of the paint department in 1978. Having served as superintendent of the foundry longer than one, he was often a resource on the art of casting iron. He also is credited with being the first superintendent of Buick to hire minorities as supervisors. He was one of the Founding members of the Buick Car Club and served as its original president. Bud also served on the Genesee County Welfare Board and was a member of the Carman Athletic Booster Club. In later years, Bud continued to be a special person. Because he endured many hardships without complaining, he set an example for everyone around him. Bud was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen and sister, Ruth.
