Howard Eugene Howdy Travis

Howard Eugene "Howdy" Travis, son of Joseph E. Travis (1906-1957) and Ruby Louis (Cokonougher) (1912-1970) Travis, was born 30 May 1936, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Howdy was raised with 5 siblings.  He graduated in 1954 from Okemos High School.  Howdy married Jacquelyn G. Ball (1939-2001), date unknown, they had 2 sons but were divorced in October 1962.  He married Margaret G. Mattson, 19 June 1965, Michigan.

Howdy loved cars and worked in and around gas/service stations all his life.  He died 18 January 2001, Ingham County.

HOWARD E. "HOWDY" TRAVIS

WILLIAMSTON

Born May 30, 1936 in Lansing; died January 18, 2001, at the age of 64.  Howard graduated from Okemos High School in 1954 and worked for service stations in the Lansing are most of his life.  He made friends with everyone he met and would do anything for them.  Howard loved his children, grandchildren, tractors and dogs.  Surviving are Margaret G. (Mattson), his wife of 35 years; 2 daughters, Penny J. (James) Bohnett of Webberville and Heidi (Steven) Bumpus of Williamston; 2 sons, Howard E. (Patricia) and Mark E. Travis both of Webberville; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Joseph (Evelyn) Travis, Jr. of Mason and Curtis (Virginia) Travis of Mecosta; 3 sisters, Phyllis McCrumb of Mt. Pleasant, Geraldine Antcliff of Okemos, and Dorothy Fockler of Lansing.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24 at 2 p.m. at Williamston United Methodist Church, 211 S. Putnam St., Williamston, with the Rev. Kate Demougin, Associate Pastor of Unity of Greater Lansing Church, officiating.  There will be no visitation.
