Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes obituary:

Kristin Marie Pangman, age 46, of Lansing, MI passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2017 and now rests safely in heaven. Kris, the daughter of Robert and Marie (Engelhardt) Pangman was born on January 31, 1970 in Lansing, and grew up in Okemos. As a student, Kris played the flute and swam competitively, although splashing in the pool with friends gave her the most joy. She graduated from Okemos High School in 1988 and went on to earn a BS degree from Michigan State University. During her college years, work-study programs took Kris to Poland, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Spain and Australia. A highlight of her year-long stay in Germany was attendance at the reunification ceremonies in Berlin. Following graduation, she was employed as an administrative assistant with firms in Denver, Chicago, San Francisco and in the Lansing area. Kris’ gift of caring touched many around her, and she was a passionate advocate for those she assisted and loved. Her love extended to the four-legged, and her connection with dogs seemed instantaneous. She is survived by her parents, sister Ellen (Bob) Venable of Mequon, WI, niece and nephews Kelly, John and Will Venable, extended family and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 11:30 am at her home church, St. Luke Lutheran, 5589 Van Atta Rd., Haslett, with Rev. David Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, at a future date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to remember Kris are encouraged to consider the Capital Area Humane Society www.cahs-lansing.org or St. Luke Lutheran Church. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in East Lansing
