Charles John "Chuck" Webb, son of Dr. Roy Owen (1899-1961) and Helen Doty (Boss) (1905-1998) Webb, was born 4 November 1935, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  Chuck's father was a veteran of World War I and World War II.

Chuck graduated in 1954 from Okemos High School.  He graduated from Michigan State University and then followed his father, who was an MD at a Montana veteran's hospital, to Montana.
