Robert Griffith, son of James Knox (1883-1947) and Winifred Belle (Gault) (1885-1944) Griffith, was born 19 November 1916, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1934 from Okemos High School and went on to have a career with the Lansing Board of Light and Water.

Robert married Helen Louise Cook, 4 April 1947.  Helen, born 12 April 1919, passed away 12 December 1972.  Robert married Marie E. (Dillon) Smalley. 

Robert died 2 November 2003, Texas.  Marie, born 10 May 1922, died 5 October 2006, Ingham County. Robert, Helen and Marie all lay under one headstone, Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.

MISSION - Mr. Griffith was born Nov. 19, 1916.  He was one of 12 children, the son of Winifred and James Griffith.  He was a lifelong resident of Lansing and the Okemos area.  He graduated from Okemos High School in 1934.

He retired from the Lansing Board of Water and Light after 29 years of service.  He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marie E. Griffith of Mission; stepson, John S. Smalley of Bloomingburg, Ohio; brother, Joseph (Marie J.) Griffith of Dimondale, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr.
