Lansing State Journal article of June 2, 1913 reported that Principal Hickok was pleasantly surprised by the appreciation gift of a beautiful silver tray. The gift was presented by Louis Grettenberger in the presence of Emma Niebling , Rose Grettenberger and all of the high school graduates that attended Okemos while Mr. Hickok was Principal.
