David T. Rhem - Class Of 2019 VIEW PROFILE

David T. Rhem

David Thomas Rhem

Okemos - Our dear boy, David Thomas Rhem, was born with his twin sister, our dear daughter, Annabelle Sara Rhem, on June 14, 2000 in Grand Rapids to his parents, Dr. Marcus Nolan Rhem and Sara Everhart Rhem. David passed unexpectedly.

David loved playing hockey and was a three-year varsity letterman at Okemos High School, where he was a junior. His teammates were like brothers to him. David loved the outdoors and the water and driving his ORV. He enjoyed rucking and hanging with the Lionkillers brotherhood. He loved wake-boarding, long boarding, and snowboarding. David had a strong sense of justice and was often a fierce encourager, sometimes with one of his tight bearhugs and sometimes with bold action. At Kanukuk Camp this past summer, David's peers awarded him "Most-Christlike-in-Character". David was an advocate for students on the autism spectrum in the Links peer to peer program at Okemos High School.

David is survived by: his parents and twin sister; his grandmother, Sharon J. Rhem (Phil Schultz); aunt Shawn (Michael) Sieve; uncle Samuel D. Rhem(Kathy); cousins Luke Sieve, Aaron Sieve, Maggie Ollander, Monica Ollander, and Lexi Rhem; and special aunt, Sara Lee McPhillips. He is preceded in death by grandfather Samuel Dunn Rhem III, grandfather James William Everhart, Jr., grandmother Gail Mixon Everhart, and special uncle Honorable James G Mixon (Robbie).

The family would like to thank the many family and friends who surrounded us at Sparrow Hospital and the wonderful doctors and staff who cared for David and us.

"In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."  Psalms 4:8 ESV

Services will be at Riverview Church in Holt, MI on April 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. Immediately following, a luncheon in David's honor will be served at the church.
