Stephen Wayne "Steve" Premer, son of Isaac Wayne (1923-1991) and Dixie Lee (Jones) Premer, was born 10 October 1947, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska.  He graduated in 1966 from Okemos High School.  Steve attended college and worked in the fire protection field.  He also served in the US Marine Corps for a number of years. 

Steve, married with 3 children, died in Houston, Harris County, Texas 6 April 1992 at age 44.  He was interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.

HOUSTON, TX

Age 44, died April 6, 1992 in Houston of complication from heart surgery.  Born October 10, 1947 in Lincoln, NB. 

A Fire Protection Engineer, he received his Associate Engineering Degree from Henry Ford Community College in Detroit.  Mr. Premer was employed by several fire protection companies in Michigan, Nevada, and Houston and was presently owner and President of S & K Fire Protection Company, Houston. 

He was a unit commissioner with the San Jacinto Boy Scouts of America, formerly serving as Scoutmaster in Houston and South Lyon, MI.  He was a member of engineering organizations NICET and ASCET; the Civil Air Patrol; and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.  He served for 14 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. 

Surviving are his wife, Jane; 2 daughters, Stephanie and Kelly of Houston; son, Charles Stephen of Drummond Island, MI; mother, Dixie Lee Premer of Okemos; 4 brothers, Mark (Lota) of Lansing, Michael (Gail) of Chicago, Jeffrey of Okemos and Gregory of Altamonte Springs, FL; grandmother, Joyce E. Jones of Haslett; 1 uncle; 2 aunts; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne (1991). 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 800 Abbott Road, East Lansing, with interment following in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
