SCOTT A. ANDERSON

LANSING

Age 44, died March 21, 2002, in Sparrow Hospital.  Scott was born in Sandstone, MN on February 28, 1958 to Keith and Audrey Anderson, and lived his early years in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  Scott and his family came to east Lansing, MI and Spartan Village in 1962.  He was a graduate of Okemos High School and also took classes at Lansing Community college.  Scott was a kind, gentle, and fun-loving boy and young man who loved animals, family and friends and was a joy to be around.  In his teenage years, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and fly-tying.  Scott also loved bluegrass music and developed into a very accomplished banjo player and worked with a number of local bands including the "Bluegrass Extension Service" during the 1970's  His later years were marked by a continuing and deadly descent into alcoholism, which finally was the root cause of his death.  Scott is survived by his parents; sisters, Sharryn Scholfield of Belding, MI, and Karen Shepherd of East Lansing, MI; brother, Craig of West Palm Beach, FL, and Traverse City, MI; and a number of nieces and nephews.
