Kathy Karnes (Golden) - Class Of 1975 VIEW PROFILE

Kathy Karnes (Golden)

Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Golden class of 1975

On September 30,2022, Heaven gained our beautiful loving daughter, wife, mom, nana, friend, Kathleen Ann Golden (Karnes).

Kathy was born to Bernard and Delores Karnes June 27, 1957. She graduated from Okemos high school and spent the majority of her years raising her family in Holt, Mi. She is married to her loving devoted husband of 40 years, Bill Golden.

There are no words that will ever capture what an amazing individual she truly was. To know her was to love her. She had a special gift of making strangers to friends immediately. No matter where she went there was always someone who would open up and share their life story. She was the bright light we all needed in this world.

She loved spending time with horses and that love she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She devoted her entire life to her loved ones. She spent over 40 years involved in 4H and was a second mom to so many. She was a shoulder to cry on, a reason of hope, finder of all joy, inspiration to all, and a best friend. She would do anything for anyone. She impacted so many lives.

Kathy had many things she loved in this world. Most of all were her children and grandchildren. She was a completely devoted stay at home mom that surrounded her children with more love than ever imaginable. That did not stop when she had her grandchildren. She was the rock of her family. The one who had all the answers, comfort, love, and encouragement. There is not a single memory with her that's not filled with love and so much laughter.

In true Kathy fashion she was laughing and creating joy for those around her until she took her last breath. Her untimely and unexpected death is just another one of her beautiful life lessons, to love and cherish every moment. She packed so much love and memories into the lives of those around her. Although her time on earth was not near long enough for us she lived her life to the fullest and filled the hearts of those around her. For that we are forever greatful. We will hold on to all the love she has given and continue to find the joy in life just as she would want.

She joins her father, Bernard Karnes in heaven as well as many special friends who have passed before her. She leaves behind her loving husband, Bill Golden. Her mother, Delores Karnes. Children Kimberly (Dan) Sutter, Kellie Golden, Katie (Lee) Hammond, Andy (Libby) Golden, Jessie (Ben) Rambo. Grandchildren Alex, Benjamin, William, Alyssa, Judson, Trey, Charlie, Raelynn, Kenslee, Lincoln, JJ, Peyton. Brother Randy (Sandy) Karnes, nephews Sean, Jimmy (Tiffany) Karnes, and many loving friends.

We will be having a celebration of life where she would want feeling sorrowful left behind and laughter/memories to be shared. She wanted nothing more in this world than to have those around her to be happy and feel loved.

Please do not send flowers. That is not what she would want. Take the money you would spend and have a special experience with those you love. Help someone out in need. Go out of your way to make someone happy. That is what she would want. That is what she did. Special moments and experiences were what she lived for and are what hold our hearts together as we learn to live this life without her physical presence with us on this earth.

Kathy's Celebration of life will take place on October 17, 2022 from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Terry J.Brail Community Hall at the Ingham County Fairgrounds 700 E. Ash St. Mason, Mi 48854.

Thank you to Alan Hopkins class of 1963 for notification.
