Joan Marsha Reed Benedict class of 1962

Formerly of Holt, Michigan

Joan was born on June 6, 1943 in Ft. Lewis Washington to Dr. O. Grant Reed and Leta June (MacHogan) Reed. She passed away on October 20, 2018 in Lansing, Michigan.

A Graduate of Michigan State University, with a major in art. Joan pursued art her entire life. She is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. She loved to paint, discuss topics of the day, spend time with her mother and sister, enjoyed being a homemaker, and play Scrabble & Cribbage.

Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Everett Benedict, her parents Oliver and Leta Reed, her brother David, and sister Carol Jean Reed, Joan is survived by her son, Reed Christian Benedict "Adalberto Morales" of Chicago, Illinois.

Visitation at Gorsline Runciman East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River, East Lansing, Monday, October 22 from 7-9 p.m.

Graveside services on Tuesday, October 23 at Glendale Cemetery in Okemos will be held privately.
