Nicholas L. "Nick" Zulakis was born 21 May 1981.  He died 19 May 2001.  Nick attended Okemos High with the class of 1999.

OKEMOS

Born May 21, 1981; died May 19, 2001 after a brief illness.  Nick is survived by his loving family, his parents, Judge Laura Baird and George Zulakis; his brother, Michael; and his sister, Zoe.  He is also survived by his grandparents, Athenoula Zulakis, and Judge Boyd and cousins, and many special friends.  Nick's family wishes to thank the many educators, direct care workers, health care providers, and the staff at Coleman Road Home who provided Nick excellent care.  Special thanks to all the students in the Okemos School System who made Nick feel so welcome.  Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 4 p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.  The family will receive friends at the chapel for a Memorial visitation Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.  Instead of sending flowers, Nick's family requests contributions be made to the Lansing YMCA, Oak Park Branch or the Okemos Education Foundation in Nick's memory.  Nick was always a happy guy, and he made everyone around him happy all his life.
