Eurith Pauline "Skip" Hoskins, daughter of Claude Kent (1883-1946) and Ethel May (Boyd) (1896-1971) Hoskins, was born 1 July 1920 Michigan. Skip's mom had previously been married. Ethel wed William Butterfield in 1916. He was employed by the railroad and killed on the job a few months after the wedding. Ethel wed Claude Hoskins in 1918. Ethel married in 1947, after Claude's death, John Stratton.

Skip graduated in 1939 from Okemos High School. She married James Walter Eddy 26 February 1944 East Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

OKEMOS GIRL WEDS COAST GUARD ENSIGN
Miss Eurith Hoskins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hoskins of Okemos, spoke her wedding vows to Ensign James W. Eddy, United States coast guard reserve, in a double ring ceremony Friday February 26th at McCune chapel, Peoples church, East Lansing. Rev. H. G. Gaige officiated. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Eddy of Manistee.
The bride wore a white taffeta gown with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt and floor-length double veil which fell from a coronet of carried white carnations and roses. Maid-of-honor was Miss Ruth Hoskins of Okemos, sister of the bride and bridesmaids were Miss Beverly Easton and Miss Cecelia Linn of Okemos. James Pulver was groomsman and ushers were Frederick Eddy of Manistee and Robert Cook. Miss Patricia Eddy sang.
Miss Dorothy Kerns, Miss Evelyn Dollarhite, Mrs. Robert Cook, Mrs. Dora Davis and Mrs. Edith Bearup assisted at the reception in the church parlors. Mrs. Eddy plans to leave next week to join her husband who is stationed in New York City, N.Y.

James Eddy, born 23 February 1921 Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, served during World War II in the US Coast Guard, 1943-1946. A Michigan State College graduate, he became a design engineer with Chrysler Corporation. James died 15 September 1980 Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan.

As of 2020 Skip celebrated her 100th birthday!
