Chippewa Middle School (grades 7-8, 1995-2024, new building 2026 )

"Just in time for the school year a packed crowd of students, families, educators and alumni cheered for our new middle school as the ribbon was cut for its grand opening on August 18, 2026. Built on the old Okemos High grounds it will be one of the most modern schools in America. This is the full coverage of the speeches and ribbon cutting, followed by a look around inside the school.

Several of the old buildings remain to temporarily house Cornell Elementary students as the new Cornell school is built on its old site. Superintendent Matt Olson, School Board President Tom Buffet and Principal Jody Noble introduce Chippewa Middle School."
