Funded by Vivian Hoette, in memory of her mother

2024 - Joey Stibitz

"My name is Joey Stibitz and I plan on majoring in mechanical engineering at Michigan State University in the fall. I am so grateful to receive this scholarship from The Okemos Alumni Association in memory of Eleanor Reeves Gaiden. Music has been such a big part of my life and I hope to continue pursuing it at MSU in a community band or chamber group."

2022 -  Tayrn Parry

To the family of Eleanor Reeves Gaiden from Rod Ellis, President OAA: "I wanted to update you on the award recipient, Taryn Parry.  Remember, the Award is a national award for the "Most Outstanding Senior Performer".  The OHS Band Director recently reported to me " Taryn is now studying music at MSU as a percussion performance major. She is playing in the Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra, percussion chamber ensembles, and even helped instruct the OHS marching band drumline this fall."  Thus, Taryn continues her reputation as "Most Outstanding".
