Eleanor B. Reeves (Gaiden) - Class Of 1941 VIEW PROFILE

Eleanor B. Reeves, daughter of Albert Lindsay (1894-1952) and Myrtle Brumm (Johnson) (19894-1982) Reeves, was born 20 October 1922 Michigan.  She graduated in 1941 from Okemos High School.  Eleanor married Edward Joseph Gaiden 20 July 1943 Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.

OKEMOS GIRL MARRIES AN ILLINOIS RESIDENT

Okemos, Aug. 4. - Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Reeves, Cavanaugh road, Okemos, announce the marriage of their daughter, Eleanor, to Staff Sgt. Edward J. Gaiden, son of Mrs. H. E. Barrett, Braidwood, Ill.  The marriage occurred Tuesday evening, July 20, in Lansing.  After a week's visit with his mother, Sergeant Gaiden returned to his camp in the south.  Mrs. Gaiden is living at her parents' home.  She is employed at Sears Roebuck and company store in Lansing.

Mrs. Eleanor Reeves Gaiden has gone to Monahan, Tex., to join her husband, Staff Sgt. Edward Gaiden at Camp Pyote.  Their marriage took place in July.  Mrs. Gaiden is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Reeves.

Edward, born 5 September 1921 Cook County, Illinois, died 15 November 2001.  Eleanor died 21 March 2014.  Edward and Eleanor were interred Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, DuPage County, Illinois.

Eleanor B Reeves Gaiden class of 1941, age 91. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Gaiden. Loving mother of Vivian (Chuck) Hoette, Allen (Kathleen) Gaiden, Marion (Don) Trudeau and Michael Gaiden. Caring grandmother of Cindy, Alvin, Brian, Michael and Lialia (Loni). Caring great grandmother of Emilee, Amanda, Melissa, Jeremy, Alysa, Ryan, Liam, Yvie, Sam and Drew. Visitation Sunday, March 23, 2014, 2 to 4pm at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery and Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Interment Tuesday, March 25, 2014, 2 pm at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery,

Edward J. Gaiden, 80, beloved husband of Eleanor, nee Reeves, for 58 years; loving father of Vivian (Chuck) Hoette, Allen (Kathleen), Marion (Don) Trudeau and Michael; dear grandfather of Brian Crawford, Lialia ''Loni'', Cindy (Dave) Diller, Alvin (Kathy) Barnes and Michael (Christine) Gaiden; proud great-grandfather of Emilee, Amanda, Melissa, Jeremy and Alysa; kind brother-in-law of Harold Reeves; fond cousin of Margie (Leonard) Kochan, Lori Prbyl and many others. Mr. Gaiden was an honored Veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla #1018, Meca Retiree Club and the Motorola Retiree Club. Funeral Services will be held Monday 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road (just west of Rt. 83), Oakbrook Terrace, to visitation church Mass 10:45 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
