Delsie Ann Ratzloff (Miles) - Class Of 1929

Delsie Ann Ratzloff, daughter of Fred ((1978-1945) and Carolyn (Lutz) (1995-1947) Ratzloff, was born 6 May 1911 Bath, Clinton County, Michigan.  She graduated from Okemos High School in 1929 and from the Lansing Business University in 1930.  Delsie married Frederick L. Miles, a fellow OHS alumni, 18 June 1932 Steuben County, Indiana.

ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Delsie Ann Ratzloff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ratzloff of Mason, to Frederick L. Miles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern H. Miles of Okemos.  The ceremony took place June 18, 1932, at Angola, Ind., with the Rev. Basil Holt reading the marriage service.  Mrs. Miles graduated from the Okemos Consolidated high school with the class of 1929 and from the Lansing Business university in 1930.  For the past two years she has been employed by the Consumers Power company in Lansing,.  Mr. Miles is also a graduate of the Okemos Consolidated high school and attended Lansing Business university.  He is now operating the Standard Oil station at Cedar and Watson streets, Holt.  Mr. and Mrs. Miles plan to live in Holt.

Fred and Delsie lost two babies within hours of their births.  A girl, born 31 January 1935, died 1 February 1935 and a boy, born 11 September 1939, died 12 September 1939.  Both infants were interred Glendale Cemetery, Okemos, Ingham County.

Delsie died 28 August 1999.  Fred, born 30 October 1910, died 14 July 2004.  Fred and Delsie were interred Glendale Cemetery.

MILES, DELSIE A.

DIMONDALE

Age 88, died August 28, 1999.  Mrs. Miles was born May 16, 1911, in Park Lake, a daughter of Fred and Caroline (Lutz) Ratzloff.  She worked as a bookkeeper in their business for 34 years and enjoyed retirement at Horseshoe Lake at Rodney and also in St. Petersburg, FL.  Mrs. Miles was a member of Dimondale First Presbyterian Church; a life member and past Matron of Dimondale O.E.S. #363; past President of Home Culture Club; and member and past President of the Pricilla Club.  A very special thanks to her extended family at New Haven Adult Foster Care for their support and loving care, and also to Hospice of Lansing.  Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Fred; daughter, Marilyn (Bob) Ramont; grandsons, Michael and Todd Ramont; great granddaughters, Kristal and April; great great granddaughter, Aailyah; sister, Edna Brown; and nieces, Eleanor and Doris.  Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with Rev. John A. Toth officiating.  Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Okemos.
