Matthew Eric Knueppel, son of Arthur and Barbara Knueppel, was born 9 July 1976, Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan.  He graduated in 1995 from Okemos High School and went on to graduate from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana.  Matthew, a graduate student at Michigan State University, succumbed suddenly to meningitis 20 January 2002, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan

Age 25, entered eternal life on January 20, 2002 at Sparrow Hospital.  He was born July 9, 1976 at Foote Hospital in Jackson.  He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Jackson and graduated from Okemos High School.  He graduated from Valparaiso University and was a graduate student at Michigan State University.  He loved family, friends, games, surfing, soccer, golf and being outdoors.  He is survived by his parents Arthur and Barbara Knueppel of Jackson, brother Mark (Hillary) Knueppel and their son Alex of Minneapolis, MN; a sister Kristen (Tony) Mogle and their son Connor of Jackson, MI; two grandmothers, Helen Knueppel of Jackson, and Margaret Weber of New Port Richey, FL; an Aunt, Lois (Enrico) Roccatanni of Toronto, Canada; an uncle, Daniel Knueppel (Carol) of Coram, New York; an uncle, Walter Weber, Jr. of Lancaster, PPA and a dear special friend, Emily Sipos of Brecksville, Ohio.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jackson where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
