Eunice Miriam Hopkins (Dugan) - Class Of 1955 VIEW PROFILE

Eunice Miriam Hopkins (Dugan)

Eunice Miriam (Hopkins) Dugan class of 1955, age 86, formerly of Laingsburg, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at Burcham Hills. A funeral service will be 4:00 PM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Laingsburg Chapel with Pastor Mike Buning officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. A private burial service will take place at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos at a later date.

She slipped away peacefully into Jesus' arms and met her Lord face to face surrounded by her family and is now eternally whole with her Lord, reunited with her husband Carl Hiram Dugan, her parents Donald James (Alice) Hopkins, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and other loved ones who've gone before.

All who knew her were immensely blessed. Her strong faith was evident to all and she will be dearly missed until we join her in heaven because of our faith in Jesus whom she loved with her life.

Eunice was born August 1, 1937 in Stanton, Michigan, to Donald and Alice Hopkins, one of 14 brothers and sisters. She was raised in Okemos and DeWitt. She married the love of her life, Carl, on August 7, 1965 and they raised 4 children while living in Lansing and Laingsburg and later moved to East Lansing and then Dimondale. She spent her final years at Burcham Hills in East Lansing due to declining health and received many loving visits from her family.

She was a 'tough cookie' and God provided several health miracles for her to spend more time with her family. She loved her Lord and loved her family well. She loved to sing in church, sew, bake, read, watch crime shows, polka shows and absolutely adored seeing her grandchildren.

She graduated in the class of 1955 from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns, Michigan. She had also attended Okemos High School. She faithfully attended church her entire life, including Intercity Bible, East DeWitt Bible (Heritage Baptist), Graham Community Church and Maple Grove Baptist until she was unable to attend in person. She then faithfully enjoyed her favorite televised sermons until she transitioned to her eternal home.

Eunice is survived by 5 sisters, 4 children: Katrina (Bill) St. John, Heather (Andrew) Chambliss, Benjamin Dugan and Valerie (Chris) Stary, as well as 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Memorial contributions in Eunice's name are suggested to Maple Grove Baptist Church, 5907 S. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., Lansing, MI 48911. Online condolences may be sent at www.watkinsfuneralhomes.com
