Well this is just about as cool as it gets! HUGE thanks to Bob Gray for sending this one to us. What a riot to read these pages after all these years! It's funny, when Bob showed Doug Stow & me this little yearbook back in the 90's, I was instantly transported to 1962, to the Danish modern (cheap version) desk in my bedroom where I labored over choosing just the right words to write my contribution to this missive - a sad little effort in hindsight, but lovingly submitted all the same. And seeing the lyrical efforts of Carolyn Chaffee Good, the late Nancy Dunkel and the rest of you budding writers - did you all share my vision of future journalistic success?? The cover jogged my memory lapse - we not only had a Class Motto, we also had a Class slogan! "Room 119 is divine!" (read, "Room One-One-Nine") This is just too much fun to read. I do have to ask, however - who was Ritchie Powell and why don't I remember him? He seemed pretty active in our class.
After a bit of e-conversations w/ Rich Schaberg and Joanne (Sally) Potts over the weekend, it has been clarified that when our 5th grade teacher at Cornell went on maternity leave, Mrs. Love took over to finish that year and then became our 6th grade teacher at Central. No wonder she made such an impression on us.
Thank-you so much for getting this out to us, Bob. This made my day!

It may be a little soon for detailed reunion planning, but one thing everyone can do is check our list of Missing Classmates who have not yet joined this website. Please ask them to join so their email will be connected to our reunion planning! We know there were some classmates who would have joined us at the 50th had we known how to contact them - help us ensure we don't miss anyone for our 55th.
We're also open to suggestions of what you'd like for a reunion. Jill and I are leaning towards a simplified reunion, perhaps one held at a hotel that includes event space so folks can stay onsite? Maybe a Friday night bar gathering open to all classes? Let us know your thoughts!
2023 will also mark the 100th anniversary of Okemos Public Schools. It makes sense to schedule our 55th reunion for the same weekend to provide opportunity for out-of-town classmates to celebrate both events. We'll let you know the dates as quickly as possible. In the meantime, HELP US GET CLASSMATES LOGGED INTO THEIR PROFILE ON THIS SITE! It's free to join, you can add as much or as little informatiion as you choose - the only requirement is name and email address as we will use the email function of this website to track attendance and send out updated event information.
Also, if you haven't already, please join the Okemos Alumni Association Facebook group. We're 1,400 strong and growing!

PLEASE NOTE: By clicking on the photo, you'll make it larger, however the site doesn't have a zoom feature to enlarge it further. When you're trying to magifiy (ex. group photos) right-click on the photo, click on "Open image in new tab", then click on the new tab to view that photo and you can enlarge the screen image. Most photos were scanned with resolution at 500-800 and enhanced for as much crispness as the photo had to offer.
If you see photos that don't have a name, please let me know and we'll add it.
When sending older photos, please include names / dates / locations, etc. if possible or to add a story to the pic. We'll add brief captions to each photo when adding to the gallery. Captioning is a slow process - please be patient with us!
OHS Class of '68 50th Reunion Recap: August 24-26, 2018
We were so excited to see everyone! Click on the link for a brief rundown of our weekend together. As photos come in, we'll begin posting them so you too can "bask in post-reunion afterglow" as John Patenge might say. Thank you again to everyone who participated - we're looking forward to our next opportunity to be together.....in fact, an annual get-together may become 'a thing' as folks don't want to wait so long next time. We hope you'll join us!
DONATE TO THE OAA WEBSITE - Please give a huge thanks to folks from the Class of '65 for starting this site for all of us! It is proving to be a boon for many reasons: reunion planning, communicating with each other, sharing photos/videos, OHS history and more. Though our reunion donation option has expired, you can find other Donation options here. Thank you - and a big thank you to the classmates who have already donated.
STILL SUPER IMPORTANT!! - Thank you for registering on this website - it made planning the reunion immeasurebly easier for us. Please take some time to review the 1968 Missing Classmates section and contact anyone you can - please remind them it's free to sign-up. We fear not as many classmates were aware of the reunion because we've lost track of them. (You can always call Okemos High School for reunion information.)
SHARING CONTACT INFORMATION - Many folks shared contact information during our last reunion, and a request was made that we compile names/phone/email/address info to send out to everyone. Please let us know if you'd like to be included on the list, and make sure you have current info in your Profile on this site. NOTE: unless you give us permission, we will not share your information. Thanks!
