Jeannette Henrietta Halliday (1957 Biology)

Jeannette Henrietta Hanchett, daughter of Frederick Beebe (1891-1973) and Henrietta (Perrault) (1894-1983) Hanchett, was born 14 March 1919, Key West, Monroe County, Florida.

Jeannette graduated from Royal Oak High School, Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan.  She furthered her education and earned a BS degree in science at Michigan State College.  Jeannette taught science at Okemos High School during the 1956-1957 school year.  Her first name was misspelled in the Tomahawk year book as "Jeanette."

She married Walter Francis Halliday Jr.  They had 2 sons.

Jeannette died 24 May 1983, Ingham County, Michigan.  Walter, born 8 June 1914, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, died 11 April 1994, Ingham County.  They were interred Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Howell, Livingston County, Michigan.

Age 64, died May 24, 1983.  Born March 14, 1919 in Key West, FL., Mrs. Halliday was a teacher for 20 years in the Lansing area Public Schools.  She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the National Health Federation, the MSU Alumni Association and the National Audubon Society.  Surviving are her husband, Walter F.; 2 sons, David of Carrollton, TX and Daniel of Granger, IN; 3 grandchildren, Kathryn, Michael and Amanda; 1 brother, Charles Hanchett of Farmington, MI.  The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thurs. 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Jerome V. MacEachin, Pastor Emeritus officiating.  Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Hartland.
