Comments about life and living

My life since high school has been truly blessed. I am grateful for Doug, my husband of 48 years. We have two children, Lisa and Michael, and eight grandchildren. Our lives are enriched by our entire family. We vacation together, attend school activities, travel to baseball games, etc. In 1973 we moved to Minneapolis for what I was convinced would be a brief sojourn. Our years here have provided rewarding opportunities. I have been involved in community activities, church activities, and am
now retired from teaching English at Eden Prairie High School. Many quality friendships have been established here, and we often enjoy theater outings with them.

We return to Okemos often to visit my parents who are still in their home; how lucky I am to have them all these years. I look forward to seeing all of you in August.

School Stories

Moving in the summer before my senior year struck me as less than ideal. The fact that I look back on my senior year with fond memories is a testament to the positive environment at Okemos High School and, most particularly, to the class of '62. Iimmediately felt a part of this illustrious group! My classroom reflections range from the solid academics present in Mrs. Grinnell's English class to the seriousness with which Jon Bartow carried out his plant watering duties in our home and family living class. Of course, there were the purely fun times too. The images of Nancy Legant backing up to the campus loading the car with like-minded friends, thereby giving us an additional day to the winter break, is one I will never forget. Yes, it was a significant, memorable year.
