Esther Belle Whitmyer (Belbeck) - Class Of 1940

Esther Belle Whitmyer (Belbeck)

Esther Belle Whitmyer, daughter of Freeman Forney (1885-1955) and Bessie B. (Layer) (1886-1964) was born 29 June 1922 Okemos, Ingham County, Michigan.  She graduated in 1940 from Okemos High School.  Esther married Bruce James Pulver 28 May 1944 Shaftsburg, Shiawassee County, Michigan.

SHAFTSBURG HOME SCENE OF WEDDING

About 60 guests attended the wedding Sunday, May 28, of Miss Esther Whitmyer, 313 North Magnolia street, to Bruce Pulver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pulver, R. 1, East Lansing.  The ceremony took place in mid-afternoon in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Whitmyer of Shaftsburg.  Rev. C. F. Oliver of Perry officiated.

The bride wore a light blue afternoon dress with jacket, a pink feathered hat, and navy accessories, and carried a colonial bouquet of pink rosebuds and white carnations surrounding a white orchid.  Miss Donavieve Smith attended the bride.  Miss Norma Phelps played a violin solo and Miss Myrtle Woodruff played piano music.

Wedding cake was served afterward. Miss Roberta Pulver and Miss Mary Edgar served.

Bruce, born 22 April 1915 Michigan, died unexpectedly 27 March 1959.  He was interred Oak Plain Cemetery, Shaftsburg.

BRUCE J. PULVER

Bruce J. Pulver, 43, of R. 1, East Lansing, died Friday at a local hospital.  Mr. Pulver was born in Lansing and was employed at the Olofsson corporation.  Surviving are the widow; Esther, and a son, Allan, of East Lansing.  Funeral services will be held at Gorsline-Runciman funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Monday.  Rev. Robert Short of Chapel Hill Methodist church officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Plains cemetery, Shaftsburg.

Esther married Chester H. "Chet" Fronckel (1920-2000), a World War II veteran.  She then married Ross Harry Belbeck (1920-2001), also a World War II veteran.  Esther died 15 September 2007.  She was interred Oak Plain Cemetery, Shaftsburg.

FORMERLY OF LANSING

Age 85, born June 29, 1922, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2007.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  She retired from Lansing School District Personnel Dept. in 1986.  Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at the Chapel in the Pines Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Pulver and Jack Whitmyer officiating.  Surviving are her loving family, sons Alan (Betty) Pulver, Rocky (Melony) Fronckel; grandchildren, Josh Pulver, Christy Pulver, Angie Pulver, Bruce Alan Pulver, Ryan Fronckel and Roxanna Fronckel; and eight great-grandchildren.
